The only way you are not getting enough protein is if you are starving yourself. (first link) In which case, stop starving yourself and you will lose weight. (second link)

When you starve yourself your body goes into starvation mode and stores as much fat as it can, because your body doesn’t know when you are going to feed it again. If you need more protein for bodybuilding eat more green vegetables. If you aren’t bodybuilding, then just eat. Fruits, vegetables, a handful of nuts and you will be fine.

You need to eat meals though. Don’t just snack through the day.

I know that is not the question you asked. But what you are planning to do isn’t going to change anything for you. The first link explains protein and the vegan diet very well. It cite its sources also. I suggest reading that.

Q&A: My girlfriend is a “weight hypocrite”?

Question by Monkey D. Luffy: My girlfriend is a “weight hypocrite”?
Hey, I’m really into my girlfriend, but sometimes she can be such a hypocrite and it pisses me off like crazy.

Recently, I’ve been lazy and I stopped exercising. And as a result of my laziness, I’ve gotten kinda tubby. The weight has mostly gone to my stomach, creating a round, squishy belly that is always getting in the way when I try to zip up my pants.

Anyways, my girlfriend called me out on it saying, “Hey, fatty! When are you gonna start working out again?”
I was really surprised that she said this because she has put on about 45 pounds since we got together, and I have never bothered her about it.

The reason we are both getting fat is because she always insists on being the “main cook” in the house, and she makes the greasiest food on the planet.
I’ve tried telling her that we need to start eating healthier, but she says she doesn’t want to. >:(

What should I do?

vegetarianism and weight loss?

Question by jenn: vegetarianism and weight loss?
i just recently decided to go vegetarian, however, i’ve been trying to lose weight on top of it. i don’t do fad diets (they don’t work and are bad for you) and i’m very healthy about it however, most “healthy cooking” recipes include meat. i do eat fish but you can only eat so much of something. i don’t want to deprive my body of needed proteins or starches…any one in the same boat? any suggestions?

and yes, i exercise when i can between work and school.

and before those who are quick to answer because they want their 2 points to be rude, i already ate your mom’s tree.
i’m sorry, i’m a pescetarian then (which DEBATED whether or not it is considered vegetarian). do you eat animal bi-products at all? perhaps a vegan would consider you non-vegetarian for eating unborn baby chickens when you eat eggs? or stealing the milk away from baby cows when you drink milk? you don’t like my question, then don’t answer it.

Why not add beans to your diet. And although you have omitted meat from your diet, be careful not to overdo it on breads and the like. They are very high in calories and can undermine your attempt to lose weight. It’s not just being a vegetarian that can help you lose weight, it is still a matter of getting the right balance of nutrients/proteins/fats/carbs albeit not from meat.
