I want to grow organic potatoes in a container garden?

Question by Hope C: I want to grow organic potatoes in a container garden?
All of the books I have read, say that you MUST use certified seed potatoes. Is there any reason I shouldn’t seed out some of the organic fingerling potatoes I already have? I can understand not using regular storebought potatoes, but shouldn’t organic be okay? Same question about sweet potatoes. Any tips or advice will be appreciated!

ketone acetoacetate?

When glucose metabolism is suppressed, during starvation or in diabetics, fatty acids are used as a source of energy. But instead of entering the citric acid cycle, the acetyl-CoA produced from them is converted into the ketone acetoacetate. Some of this is then converted into acetone (which can be smelled on the breath of patients whose diabetes is out of control).

Prep time: 60 minutes

Ingredients:

1/4 c. butter, margarine, or olive oil
2 large onions
3 stalks of celery
3 cloves garlic
4 c. gluten-free chicken broth (available at most health food stores)
2 c. water
6 large potatoes, cut in 1/2 inch cubes
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. of pepper (fresh ground pepper is preferred)
1 c. gluten-free flour mix
2 c. of milk
3 tsp. lemon juice
salt and pepper, to taste
dill (finely chopped) or shredded cheese (optional garnishes)

Utensils:

stove
knife
measuring cup
measuring spoons
Directions:

Soup

Heat oil or butter in a large soup kettle over low heat.
Chop onions, garlic, and celery. (For a smooth soup, create a mash by running these ingredients through a blender or food processor.)
Cook chopped or mashed mixture until onions are translucent or slightly caramelized.
Add the chicken broth and water.
Increase the heat to medium high and bring it to a boil.
Add the cubed potatoes to the boiling broth, and cook until tender (about 10 to 15 minutes).
Dumplings

Crack eggs into a bowl.
Add salt and pepper.
Slowly add the flour until you have a golden yellow, sticky dough. (If the dough comes out dry, add some water until it is sticky.)
Drop the dough by spoonfuls into the boiling broth, and they will expand and lighten in color. It only takes a few minutes for them to cook.
After the dumplings have cooked, reduce heat to low.
Add the milk.
Simmer for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Garnish with dill or cheese, if desired, and serve.

Q&A: Does anyone have a vegan parmesean cheese recipe?

Question by carriezmail@sbcglobal.net: Does anyone have a vegan parmesean cheese recipe?
I found a great vegan parm substitute recipe on a website called the vivacious vegan, I remember it was made with raw cashews and a mixure of seasonings like season salt, garlic and onion powder and probably nutritional yeast flakes. Now I can’t get back to the site and I can’t remember all of the ingredients or the portions. If anyone has this recipe, please share it with me.

What are the benefits of eating organic food?

Question by Jackie T: What are the benefits of eating organic food?
I’ve been thinking of switching to eating organic because everyone says how healthy it is. But really, what’s so healthy about it? When you look at the back of labels of a lot of organic food, there’s so much fat, sugar, and sodium… which is NOT healthy.

So what is it? What’s so healthy or great about organic foods?

Best answer:

Answer by YahooAnswerer
No pesticides. It’s a scam in my opinion though.
